Frequently Asked Questions
This list is, obviously, not exhaustive. If you have a question not currently addressed on this website, feel free to reach me at julialludovici@gmail.com.
Each session will look completely different depending on a number of factors: which program we’re working on, the student’s grade level, the student’s proficiency in certain skills and benchmarks, what kinds of topics and delivery formats work best for the student, the time of day, how much energy the student has, and more. Given that I work 100% independently, I have the flexibility to approach curriculum design and lesson planning with creativity, meeting students where they’re at while challenging them to grow.
After our 30-minute consultation, you’re in the driver’s seat.
Not feeling like I’d make a great fit for your child’s needs? No worries! I ask that you let me know via email within 2 weeks of our consultation if you decide not to move forward.
Ready to get things moving? Great! Here’s what will happen next:
- You reach out to me via email within 2 weeks of our consultation to let me know you’re interested in moving forward.
- I send you a more in-depth intake form to complete, this time with your child’s input. This information will help me craft an initial lesson, which functions as a low-stakes assessment and vibe check.
- Once I have your responses, we schedule our first session. I get to work creating a lesson plan and send it to you for feedback.
- We have our first session, which is billed at my minimum rate (due at the end of the session). You’re welcome to observe!
- After this initial session, we check in via email: How do we think that went? How did your child feel about it? Most importantly: are we feeling like this will be a successful partnership moving forward?
- If the answer to that last question is no, it’s all good. You’re only on the hook for that one session ($25-30).
- If the answer to that question is yes, it’s time to get some things in writing!
- I send you a contract containing the specifics of the program, our agreed-upon timeline, schedule, and payment information, your rights and responsibilities, my rights and responsibilities, and the student’s rights and responsibilities. The contents of the contract are, to an extent, open to negotiation. A contract may seem a bit intense, but I think everyone benefits from documentation.
- Once we both feel comfortable with the agreement, we sign. I’m officially hired!
- I send you a copy of the signed contract for your records.
