I wrote this report for my Writing and Rhetoric capstone course during the Spring 2019 semester. The course itself examines the role of professional writing and literacy in our society, and this project in particular focuses on analyzing the composition process of one professional writer and their professional identity, through interviewing the writer and analyzing the document itself.
This paper is an example of my analytical writing in an academic research context. As an aspiring researcher in the field of rhetoric and composition, I think it is important to include a sample of writing from a place of inquiry and academic exploration. This piece in particular touches on topics of authorship and identity expression, which, as a writer and researcher myself, I find extraordinarily interesting. I hope to continue with this type of work within the field of rhetoric composition in the future.
